Okitegami Kyoko No Biboroku Episode # 8 Review [Sooner or Later I Swear]

This week’s episode deals with a murder that took place to a clothes department; a woman was killed in a dressing room and was discovered, by who else? Yakusuke, who once again is a suspect but this time, doesn’t have to rely on Kyoko solely- he is putting forth his detective abilities on use, being encouraged by Kyoko herself!

(Kyoko discovering the latest technological advancements!)

(Kyoko discovering the latest technological advancements!)

We finally get to see how a regular day starts for Kyoko and her POV- it is the same routine she has to repeat everyday. She finds the locations of the same things, she lists in her head things/concepts she needs to get by, like clothing, food, shelter and..Watson! Once again, Yakusuke through the day case, earns Kyoko’s trust anew.

It was great to see how she supported him throughout the investigation and how she wanted him to “solve” the mystery himself.

(the my-boo-is-smart! expression!)

(the my-boo-is-smart! expression!)

Her inner thoughts about him that she got through their interaction (“good, honest person”; we didn’t get to see the RIDICULOUS HANDSOME face one, but that is default right lol), and Yakusuke’s speech about how love can be troublesome but is worth it, lead Kyoko to (almost) ask him out on theater (yes, you read that right- we got to the point where Kyoko asks him out and Yakusuke turns her down!! well, she didn’t exactly, and he didn’t turn her down on purpose but STILL) but sadly, Yakusuke had to leave.

(darn you economy for blocking my fictional ships even!)

Oh well, that forever raincheck date will finally take place in the next episode, so yay for that!

About Kyoko’s memory origins, we had two huge developments :

1)we saw her last memory fragment, someone / her running through a corridor of some sorts trying to escape from something (?)

2) she was engaged! I don’t think her “ex” (played by Kaname Jun) was lying so the question is..WHAT ABOUT YAKUSUKE BRO HE GOT DIBS.

lol no, I guess the question is who (and how) confined Kyoko in the SandGlass apartment and wrote that headwall note? What did Horo reveal to Yakusuke?

(Yakusuke going from hopeless puppy-in-love face to dont-mess-with-me-when-it-comes-to-Kyoko-dude one!)

(Yakusuke going from hopeless puppy-in-love face to dont-mess-with-me-when-it-comes-to-Kyoko-dude one!)

The plot thickens so onwards to episode 9 and hopefully Yakusuke and Kyoko have at least their cinema fun uninterruped because seems like shit’s gonna the hit the fan soon!

(how can you not ship those dorks?!)

p.s notable mention for this

it reminded me exactly of my mindset when I had to deliver a few philosophy papers back in the first years in uni; because I wanted to finish them quick, I was only focusing on the question in hand without mentioning anything else, resulting no more than two-three paragraphs lol. It was the principle I used as my last line to end the paper “see Occam’s Razor aka simplicity to everything!”…of course I did flank a few times lol but I once passed a class having spent only 45 mins on my paper. Simplicity for the win!

Golden Rec - I'm Home Review [My Song is Love, is Love Unknown]

"There's nothing greater in life than loving another; it leads to love for your fellow people, your country..and the whole world."

I'm pretty outgoing from what I've been told; unless, you bad-mouth Ayase. Or Gakky. Or Ueto. Or Tori. Or Masaki. Or Kame. Hmmm, the or-thing is actually endless! You get the gist of it, right? ; p

It’s because they are reviews, and not recaps where I usually write more; sadly I don’t have the time to be thorough about every show I watch.

      Thanks for the comment!

i understand time is a constraint we can’t overcome, and with so many good shows its hard to write a long review. but i am glad that i stumble upon your blog. keep up the good work, cant w8 for the next review. 🙂

In retrospect, I should have probably recapped Okitegami but since I started the first two episodes as reviews, focusing mostly on Kyoko and Yakusuke, I continued on that format.

Can’t wait for the next episode either, cinema date lol

I mean the latest episodes generally; I was ready to spoil myself for episode 9 but I managed to hang on somehow lol.
It’s just 2 episodes left, I’d rather not watch the raw first, I wanna wait for the subtitles to enjoy them fully. (…I will probably spoil myself in half an hour though haha)

Ah, yup. Latest episodes was quite nice.
            Hahahaha.. just watch it!
Lately I watched this drama multiple times, first raw and then with subtitle. ep 7 watch 3 times, ep 8 twice. 😀

  3. […] since the 6th episode I think? No wait, it was since the 5th freaking episode, to 6th, to 7th, to 8th ! Wow, Okitegami taught me how to be patient, unbelievable […]
