OSTrich Mondays #4
I feel so sleepy, to the extent i thought of becoming an ostrich myself and hiding from the 4th OSTrich Monday. I won’t write much and i will use as an excuse that i will let the music do the talking. Actually, even though i may not have watched a drama or a movie, chances are high i will listen to its soundtrack to unearth a possible new favorite song to please my ears. This is were my brain stops thinking and i will rely my hopes on the Know Kwon autopilot.
Kai’s Prayer on The Three Musketeers was one of the best OST songs during 2014 and the scene it adorned with its presence made the knife shine twice as brightly. The operatic vocals along with the steadily escalating devout ambiance are overwhelming.
Joseon Gunman was one of my favorite 2014 Sageuk dramas and this song was carved in my musical memory from the very first moment i listened to it. Jo Jang Hyuk’s warm and slightly husky voice takes you on an emotional journey as the song itself brings to the foreground a sweet longing and an affectionate sense of melancholy.
And here comes a song from a drama i haven’t watched. Jiyeon joined forces with Shorry J on Triangle’s Kiss & Cry. The main melody’s repetitive yet caressing motive evokes a nostalgic vibe. Jiyeon’s beautiful voice dances gently to the tune’s tempo whereas Shorry J’s spot-on and powerful rapping climaxes the emotional charge as the song reaches the end, delivering an always welcome enriching vibe.
A lullaby for me and i am off to sleep.
