Dramas that I didn’t expect to be that good ~ pt1
Hana Kimi here! Summer is ending, but we still have time for some dramas. I decided to do a post about, dramas that were a beautiful surprise for me. Maybe that way I can inspire or suggest to watch some of these dramas during the last hot days, if you haven’t already. For those who spend summer working, I am REALLY sorry, still an episode per day or week can make you relax and tolerate work better^^
So here is a list of dramas that I didn’t expect to be as good as they were and the reasons why.
the list is in a random order.
Saikou No Rikon
I don’t even remember, how I decided to watch this drama. But I remember thinking, that a story about two married couples over their thirty, wouldn’t really be exiting or talk to people of younger ages. But this drama was so exciting, with extremely funny scenes and humor, but had some meaningful deep conversations also. Plus I’ve already written in my profile that a part of me is Hamasaki Mitsuo, one of the best characters in dramaland , Eita did a great job portraying.
Oh My Ghost
When you first read the plot of Oh My Ghost, you get a bit sceptical. A ghost that gets into a virgin’s body, that have to make her loose her virginity. I mean you have to admit it’s not something that happens everyday 😛 But Kwon suggested this drama to me and now, I suggest it to you. Oh My Ghost has some of my favourite romances and an interesting female lead. All the actors of course were great. If you are looking for summer romance, this is your drama.
Ho Goo’s love
Another amazing TVN k drama. I though I wouldn’t like Ho Goo’s love, because I am not used to kdramas not having a strong male lead, that even if his not a chaebol, his status is above everyone. So how would I like Ho Goo? Well the answer was simply, since the writers did a great job going between character’s present and past. A beautiful drama, that doesn’t only make you interesting in the main leads, but the supporting roles too. From a point onward, I cared more for the supporting roles and thank god I was getting enough scenes for them.
Shim IS Otoko Demo Onna emo Nai Sei
Another drama with not a usual plot. How could a drama touch the subject of intersex? Well jdramas can do that and never disappoint me. A very interesting drama, that informs you about IS and has a sweet plot. I feel like this drama taught me many things.
When I had seen videos or screen caps from School 2015, I thought that it would be another teenage school story, with cheesy relationships. But I was totally wrong. School 2015 was a drama that kept me, wanting to watch more. It had a makjjang feeling as a story, but it didn’t bother me at all. Of course I fell in love with Nam Joo Hyuk with this drama, not that I didn’t like Soungjae.
Age of Youth
Age of youth, had idol actresses and other actresses, their names I didn’t know, So I was a bit skeptical whether to watch it or not. Plus it seemed like a rushed drama to me, since the production was not that big. But I have to admit, that I was wrong. Sure some acting parts were a bit of, but overall, it was an interesting drama. With realistic stories and hardships of the main female leads, that many people could relate. I am expecting the second season of Age of youth.
A musical drama. I started watching, because I am a huge fan of Beast, currently Highlight. I was interested on how Jun Hyung would act. It was not that bad to be honest. Monstar might seem like a teenage drama with weak actors (Of curse you can’t say Kang Ha Neul is weak <3 , but he was not so well known back then). Well Monstar is definitely a cute story to watch during summer and it has some music parts, that are really pretty. That one had one of my favourite secondary couple too.
