Boku Unmei no Hito Desu MidWay Review

Boku Unmei teaches us a very important truth, right from the very start : People are different than carrots. Yep, no lie!

I’ve said this before, that there’s something about NTV and its Saturdays shows that I (usually) end up adoring; and Boku Unmei is no exception.

Alright, most of you who follow my posts for a while now (and still remember me lol***) probably know that Matsuzaka Tori is my ultimate of ultimate biases and second close is Kame. So, it was a given that even if the show ended up being poop, I’d stay for the cast; apart from him, there’s also Pi, Fumino and Nanao all of whom I like a lot and yes, I will never stop associating Nanao with Tachibana Kara NEVER FORGET.

But, while the show has a lulzy premise and might pass off as something “ah, it will be sorta silly!”, well, it’s not. There are your usual over the top moments and it has its troll-ish supernatural elements (Pi as God though, that is believable, right? If God looked like Yamapi, I think a lot of people would have no beef with that haha) but there’s is a down-the-ground feel surrounding the series.

It’s realistic how Haruko feels a lonely burden after failing in her love life repeatedly, reaching the borderline point of feeling indifferent about love; heck, the whole world is suffering from loneliness but most of us are like “nah, ffff that, I’m better off alone anyways, right? RIGHT. I’m off to watch Survivor now, yaaas! :DDD”

Of course, there isn’t a cute, dorky Makoto come knocking on our door to change our minds, is there? :p

Makoto’s tenacity, comes mostly from the motorbike God, who basically told him that the end of the world lies on him and Haruko’s babymaking ability, as their child will be Luke Skywalker and will save the galaxy, or something like that.

I love, love, LOVE Makoto and the spectacular way he fails, but is able to pick himself up and try again, all the while trying to find a balance between the need to save the world, his developing feelings for Haruko and not come across as “a high pressure love salesman”!

I love Haruko and how she’s not falling for Makoto’s destiny shenanigans (from her POV) and is understandably keeping her distance initially, but as she spends more time with him, a tiny, tiny window is slowly opening.

I SHIP ‘EM like it’s my business and a huge part of that is Kame and Fumino doing a great job in portraying them, keeping their chemistry pretty believable; I can’t wait to see how they will reach their “destiny”-destination.

Pi as motorbike God is a cooking troll and his role while relatively small is very much significant; he dabs, he delivers some hilarious lines, and ultimately wants to help Makoto find happiness which will also allow for the world to continue to exist. Nanao as Yotsuya, is your typical bestie of the female main chara, wanting the best for her friend and all that, while being the hot spot of great luck, according to most of the male employees!

I’ll recap the rest of the series as I really like it, so, onwards to episode 6! (darn, I truly missed saying “onwards”!)

+huge thanks to izzyosa @ DA

***I need to apologize for my disappearance these past months, but I had to settle an old score with my old rival from highschool, in a game of boxing that went on and on, rivalling Rocky vs Drago…nah, that’s a lie (is it? :p)

I did have to take care of some matters that needed immediate attendance though; I don’t wanna dive deeper into that, as it’s lots of stuff that were piled up together, but the result for the blog is that I don’t have the luxury of time or energy to leisure around anymore like old times, recapping non-stop.

That doesn’t mean I’m abandoning the blog though, I mean, my post today is proof of that, but I think the best I can do for the moment, is recap once a week. It does pain me, comparing the past with the present, (for many reasons, not only recapping lol, nostalgia is etched on my body apparently) but it is what it is. Milly Ashford, the legendary president, captures my exact feelings :

My wish for all of us, is, let us all stay healthy and watch Code Geass S3 because you know it’s gonna be epic shit! You definitely know it!

p.s I have been growing watermelons, as I said I would for my 2017 only resolution..well okay, it’s not watermelons, but still, I’ll reach that point soon. It is refreshing to work on earth afterall, Kaji was right!

Boku Unmei no Hito Desu Episode 6 Recap

"There's nothing greater in life than loving another; it leads to love for your fellow people, your country..and the whole world."

I'm pretty outgoing from what I've been told; unless, you bad-mouth Ayase. Or Gakky. Or Ueto. Or Tori. Or Masaki. Or Kame. Hmmm, the or-thing is actually endless! You get the gist of it, right? ; p

Sobs, I’m glad you’re still alive!
I was beginning to think this blog is no longer active then I won’t have any jdrama recaps to read.
That aside, I really hope you’re doing well!
Health comes first before anything else, so do take care, yeah?

Been wanting to watch this drama but I will wait until it finishes airing~! (^-^)

Like Kosameame I’m waiting till this drama is done to watch, but have been looking forward to it. In the meantime we’ve started Kaito Yamaneko!

And, did you see the Watashi ni Unmei no Koi Nante Arienaitte Omotteta one-off SP? We watched it recently and found it delightful… I imagine it would be right up your alley. ^^

Oh Yamaneko, the memories. It’s one of my favs!

I haven’t watched it as of yet, as I haven’t had the time to watch much stuf lately, but I will do that, as soon as I find a bit of time.

Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it!

We’ve watched 3 Yamaneko eps so far though and… have been pretty lukewarm on it. :/ It’s been campier than we usually are into. Does it have massive leaps in quality as it goes on or is it kinda consistently the same throughout in that regard? I think it might just not be our thing if so…

It gets better as it goes on, I loved it personally! But, I was sort of biased since I loved Kame, so there’s that too..:p
