Minami-kun no koibito (My little lover) ~ ep 10 last episode review

Hello Dramajjang babies, today you are my babies because it’s Valentine’s πŸ˜› To be honest I don’t consider this day special, but here is a heart for you β™₯Β

2016-02-07 (2).png

There couldn’t be a better review for this day, other than “My little lover’s” last trolling episode.Β

On episode 9 Minami and Chiyomi had gone to a trip, so that at that place Chiyomi would come back to her normal size. That didn’t happen and in episode 10 the two of them head back disappointed. Chiyomi expresses her dispair and how she thinks she can’t be with Minami anymore, her state would ruin his life in the future. Minami doesn’t listen to her and as they talk a car hits Minami and leaves him lying on the road. The thing is Chiyomi’s mother has been following them all along and she discovers their secret. She doesn’t seem very surprised though…

She gets her daughter back home and Minami gets in the hospital. Chiyomi’s father eyes fall out, when he sees his daughter in his wife’s bag.

As the episode continues to be surreal, Chiyomi visits Minami in the hospital and declares her love then with her tiny lips, she kisses him and he wakes up. Thank god he didn’t eat her by mistake… Well Chiyomi’s magical kiss not only woke her love, but when they kiss again a light appears and Chiyomi comes back to her normal size, plus naked.

Everybody at school finds they are dating when Minami reveals it. What a great boyfriend defending his love. I want a boyfriend like that, Valentine bring me one please, huhuhuhuhuh!

Then we skip a year where Chiyomi and Minami are married. Well if you aks me I wouldn’t marry so young but it’s their choice.

Despite the trolling episode we get a pretty last scene where they go back to the place Minami found chobiko and where Chiyomi novel’s end…

What do you guys think of Valentine’s Day or “My little lover’s” last episode for that matter?

Just finished! OMG this series was so adorable πŸ™‚ I liked that Minami started opening up and Chiyombi started growing up and thinking of others. The townspeople were hilarious, the Mom and Domestic Violence? lol All in all, all the characters played their parts and I loved that the second leads made the Minami express his feelings and also, they bowed out gracefully. Loved the Grandma-she and I could watch dramas together. Oh Chiyombi is A HOT BALL OF MESS, but she’s amazing and I loved the family dynamic especially at the end. I also agree that getting married at the end was a little…. just way too early, but if you think of it, they’ve been through life and death and just seen everything so the next step is marriage.

I know! I don’t consider “My little lover” a masterpiece, but it was cute and had many nice moments. Maybe because you marathoned the episodes you are more excited. But it definetly worth more than I expected.

Hi, Hanakimi91 Thank you for review/ recapping this series. I really enjoy your writing and really love lurking dramajjang in general because you all guys seem so passionate about drama πŸ™‚

As you said this series is full of cute moments and very easy going (though there were some angsty ones, I’m glad it didn’t turn full makjang — but then again, it isn’t often for a J-drama to swerve from its initial promise).

Anyway, I wonder if you’ve watched Ninomiya-Fukada’s 2004 version of Minami-kun no Koibito? I watched it in 2012 and somehow it became one of most fave romcom series that I hold dearly in my heart.

I’m probably being very biased to say this but I found 2004 Minami to be more… open about his feelings. I mean, in the whole series I felt and I knew that he loved Chiyomi dearly (my heart ached for them more than a few times). Whilst, 2016 Minami was (initially) so introvert, I didn’t know what he was thinking. I almost felt Chiyomi was so deep in one-sided love. Of course, later on he warmed up and started showing his feelings and we finally got our cute(R) moments AND that made me melt into a puddle for their adorableness.

    *SPOILER ALERT*

What I was left wanting more about 2004 Minami was the ending. Chiyomi NEVER got back to original size (three years passed in the end of the series and nothing!). Of course I’m just happy as long as my OTP together but how long they both can survive that kind of relationship? Some (or rather, most) times love alone won’t be enough. In the end, instead of enjoying the “now” that they have, I was too much thinking of “when they’ll break up”. That feeling lingered for days and I hoped the impossible that there would be a Special Episode showing their TRUE happy ending, which of course never happened (it was already 8 years after the series ending).

    That’s why …………..
I’m soooooo happy that they got married in 2016 ver. I’m truly happy for them (well, if you ask me, I wouldn’t marry so young either) but we got our confession, kisses, wedding and kisses and overall a feel-good feeling. Yaaay! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€

All in all, I adore the young actors here though 2004 ver of the series will always be my most fave. On a side note, in my mind I can just copy 2016 cute moments and paste them in 2004 ver, haa πŸ˜€

Thanks once again for the review/ recap, Hanakimi91… Will be lurking your other posts πŸ˜‰ Happy Sunday πŸ˜€
