Kounodori Episode # 7 Review [I Want A Reason For The Way Things Have To Be]

This episode focuses on the midwives’ role,  mostly through Komatsu and her history with her mother and how she came to be one herself.

Being a midwife seemingly seems like less important than an obstetrician but in reality it carries an equal weight; supporting a mother through her pregnancy (natural birth or not) and afterwards is no easy task, and it takes a lot of training and intensive care. However, a lot of times midwives are treated with ignorance and their part gets diminished; it was nice to see Konotori delivering his gentle and soothing speech (once again) and lift Komatsu’s spirit when she felt like wavering.

(Konotori reminds me of Kenshin for some reason, it must be his gentle manners and calm front, yep. Rurouni Konotori!)

The old midwife’s appearance was decisive in making Komatsu realizing that there needs to be some kind of cowardice when it comes to dealing with lives of mothers-babies; you can’t be stubborn and wanting to do it your own way. You have to be very careful, support the mother but if things go south, you need to make the right call; there is some strength in that sort of “cowardice” but it is an admirable trait to have; to know when you have actually fulfilled your role, and let others do their role and job too.

Shinomiya’s argument with Komatsu highlighted the “needless need” of coming on top when you fervently support a side; but in reality, there’s no real argument, as the point is that both need each other, and most importantly it is the safety of the woman and her baby that needs to be prioritized.

It was good to see Shinomiya subtly reaching out to Komatsu in the end, even if it was done in…well Shinomoya’s way haha.

(that's the extension of his being "gentle" lol..Shimoya's face like OHHESAIDTHAT)

Last but not least, the concert (if it can be called like that lol) in the end from Mayumi’s fiance was HILARIOUS. I’d buy that song and play it every morning lmao. Shirakawa was the only one that could be excited with it!

Funakoshi still remains in my HUSBAND GOALS, I am not even kidding, I mean when will your faves?

(don't you dare tell me that's not sexy!)

Onwards to episode 8 then!

"There's nothing greater in life than loving another; it leads to love for your fellow people, your country..and the whole world."

I'm pretty outgoing from what I've been told; unless, you bad-mouth Ayase. Or Gakky. Or Ueto. Or Tori. Or Masaki. Or Kame. Hmmm, the or-thing is actually endless! You get the gist of it, right? ; p
