Okitegami Kyoko No Biboroku Episode # 9 Review [I Wanna Know What It’s Like On The Inside Of Love]
disclaimer – this post was written by kipzizz for dramajjang.co only etc etc –
First of all, note to self : NEVER GET FOOLED BY THE PROMOS AGAIN GODDAMMIT. Honestly, I was pissed when the episode ended (you should have seen my early drafts before I finally properly edited my post, full of S, F, C words, you get it) but I can see a ray of sunshine along the whole WHY-GOD-WHY this episode was- okay, more than one ray, since the episode wasn’t that painful; I’m just butthurt because we got off to such a beautiful start, where Kyoko and Yakusuke are having coffee together and are stealing glances at each other just like two newly lovebirds:
and ended up more confused, more stood up, more frustrated than ever!
Alright, let’s take things from the beginning; Kyoko and Yakusuke had planned to go to the theater together, after Kyoko was done with her detective duties for the day; however her employer, unknowningly to her, was (allegedly) her fiance that she had forgotten about, and he had staged a mystery case that Kyoko solved years ago; since her thought pattern and her way of thinking was the same, he confirmed it was truly the Kyoko he knew afterall and asked her to start over again.
Meanwhile Yakusuke did some digging on his own, finding out that Kyoko was in SandGlass long before Horo was there, something that Horo admitted to.
The man who helped him acquire SandGlass, only wanted to be sent reports to how things were going there, through Nuru who apparently didn’t know anything else either. On top of that, the man is supposedly dead and Yakusuke’s leads pretty much stopped there.
How great were things going between them up until the end; Kyoko was glad to accept Yakusuke’s invitation and she was ready to go and find him despite everything she had “learned”. Had her “fiance” not block her, (what was that he held and “threatened” her with? It wasn’t clear, I don’t think it was a gun though) we would have had our beautiful theater scene exactly as (sadly stood up among everything else!) Yakusuke envisioned it in his mind. Poor Watson..
Ahh, my writers-detectives duo, standing at the gates of love (..or theater, w/e!) and not being able to get in; what a sad fictional world that is.
Because you know that this is exactly how the scene would be played out; Kyoko being all cute-stingy about everything and Yakusuke saying “of course!” to every demand of hers.
So my expectations for the finale are :
GIVE ME MY (CINEMA) DATE BACK..lol, I’ve been hung up on that date since the 6th episode I think? No wait, it was since the 5th freaking episode, to 6th, to 7th, to 8th ! Wow, Okitegami taught me how to be patient, unbelievable lol
Don’t blame me for always bringing that one up, it hurts knowing we were so close and yet so far..ah, ain’t that life? A series of events that are so close, yet so far. /philosophycontemplative
But no seriously now, there needs to be a clear explanation of what the hell truly happened. Kyoko uncovering something she shouldn’t have and running for her life makes sense, but we need to see how everything unfolded properly and how she got into Sandglass and all that; considering this episode’s ending and her not remembering anything, it’s obvious someone (LOUSY “FIANCE” ALERT) washed away her remember-markings and told her lies, but there has to be something bigger here than just a jealous ex or something. I’m looking forward to it, I hope the mystery is something big.
And obviously we need a good Yakusuke/Kyoko scene; a subtle moment that will let us know that these two got their happy ending. That’s all I need to see. Please don’t let it be something ambiguous because uuuuuhhhh.
Onwards to episode 10 then, let us hope the storm has passed and there are only blue skies ahead; just like the simple, beautiful intro! (should I say something about date again, or will I jinx it? ahhh, decisions!)
