Episode 5 Preview: Heard It Through the Grapevine (2015)
Plan B(itch) is dead, long live plan B(itch)! The masterfully crafted ambitious plan of attorney Han failed to establish its territorial reign and In Sang’s parents were caught off guard. Instead of paving the way they’re dancing to In Sang’s tune now that the wedding has been confirmed. At this point, they couldn’t do anything else but surrender to the flow of events, anything else would pretty much ruin their family reputation instantly. The happy masks soon will fall, but their new faces won’t be so inhuman, at least for the time being, there has to be a bit of fake gentleness in the air in order to preserve the new world order in their household. “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” and in that case, In Sang’s parents don’t have friends except for their secretaries and house personnel, the rest are “friends”, as for enemies, they have plenty, especially attorney Han. However, except for the enemies, they have “enemies” too, Seo Bom and her family, even In Sang. As for little Jin Young? He’s a weapon of mass destruction! Judging from the picture, In Sang’s going to be invisible inside the household since his parents will probably put him in their ignore list! I guess it’s better for now, for In Sang i mean, for he won’t have to face attorney Han’s wrath for the time being!
Everything that started with plastic smiles with the rushed marriage will turn to tears. Of course i’m referring to attorney Han and madame Choi. It was too much for their own pride to silently accept the overall situation. I presume we’re going to laugh so badly at their reactions! Madame Choi’s world is utterly ruined, what matters to her the most is how she’s going to explain what’s going on to others and how others will perceive the overall situation. A plan C will be essential for attorney Han and madame Choi, a plan under new variables through flexible ways of moving on forward. Just because it happened, it doesn’t mean they approved the marriage.
Supporting and accepting In Sang and Seo Bom’s relationship is the only way out. Presenting it as an innocent love we’ll have to probably witness various aspects, like the opinion of “friends”, media, rivals, even society’s opinion. It will probably be a fight for attorney Han to present it as something natural in order to stop the scandal-seeking mouths from spilling poison all over his household. As for now, In Sang and Seo Bom will have their time to share their very own precious moments, even if it’s not going to be to a wide extent in terms of time.
As for Seo Bom, even though it’s going to be better it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be easy. Becoming a part of the family, even an unwelcome one, she has to follow the code of high society and become a proper young lady under madame Choi’s instructions; if she wants to survive. Sacrificing part of herself feels inevitable, but we have yet to find out her inner strength when it comes to the most important people in her life, In Sang and Jin Young. There will be moments of love and there will be smiles, but there will be tears and moments of weakness. It wasn’t easy in the first place and it’s not going to be easy now either, at least in the near future. And that’s when Seo Bom’s family’s support comes into play in order not to lose herself in this ever-expanding torrent. As for In Sang, he will be by her side in her darkest hour to ease her burden. I’m curious whether this ongoing pressure will cause corrosion between them, to what extent and of course, how they’ll deal with it. Of course, these are just assumptions of mine.
It’s about time attorney Han and madame Choi saw their grandson! They’re still young and they still can’t believe they’ve already become grandparents! Attorney Han’s facial expression in the preview is priceless, it’s between slight disgust and extreme enthusiasm, something like “so you’re the one that ruined my life, but you do look cute little devil and i’m your… grandfather”! And madame Choi isn’t different either, she’s like “how are we going to present you to the world? what have you done to us? but you do look cute and i’m kind of glad i saw you”! It’s going to be one good hell of a scene! The baby behind Jin Young is so photogenic, he’s already a celebrity, he never misses a chance to pose like an aegyo master!
As for In Sang’s last thoughts on the preview through which he declares his straight forward love to Seo Bom and he’s thankful to her as her desperate face emerges into tears of relief, i’m really looking forward to that scene!
PS. I’m looking forward to the first part of Heard It Through the Grapevine’s OST! Could there be a future OST song with Lee Joon singing?
