Blood 2015 ep 1 & 2 reviews

Blood_(Korean_Drama)-p1

Did you guys have enough of my shojo movies Marathon? Well it’s time to pause that and get back to some dramas. I missed a lot during my exams, but frankly there wasn’t a 2015 drama to excite me. I started “Healer” since I wanted to watch Ji Chang Wook’s work and I’m already loving it. I’m on ep 9 and really happy that I don’t have to wait to watch the next episodes. It’s a very good work and it makes me respect and love Ji Chang Wook even more. But I’m too far behind on “Healer” to start writing about it, so I wanted to begin something on going that I can tell my opinion on. Blood seemed interesting and since both leads are actors I have my eyes on for a long time, I pushed play.

So episode one was an introduction to vampire Park Ji-Sang’s (Ahn Jae-Hyeon) life. We didn’t get to see much of Ahn Jae Hyun’s acting since it was placed in the past and Baek Seung-Hwan played Park Ji-Sang young. This episode didn’t get me excited, too many vampire cliches too mane not looking real effects. Generally I’m not into vampires and supernatural things because its too hard to make everything believable especially if it’s not an HBO show.

In episode 2, we get to see more of what “Blood” is gonna be about. Park Ji Sang has become a very famous and capable doctor, since he has supernatural senses and he takes the job to the hospital Yoo Ri-Ta (Ku Hye-Sun) our main lead is working, for personal reasons. Of course we have the bad vampires, who are after our main lead for unknown reasons. Ji Sang’s and Ri-ta’s first meeting isn’t a good one, so here we go with the usual love-hate relationship of the main leads.

About the acting I would say Ahn Jae Hyun is doing a decent job as Park Ji Sang the cold vampire. Of course he can’t be compare to first class actors, but I appreciate his work since I imagine how much burdened he must feel. About Ku Hye Sun, I don’t know is its her acting or the bad character she is given. I mean Yoo Ri-Ta seems pretty annoying in just one episode. I like Ku Hye Sun and I want to watch what she is gonna do in the next episodes, also she has gotten so much prettier since “Boys Over Flowers”.

I wish I had seen something totally different from the usual vampire mysterious life and love drama. Like I would love for Park Ji Sang to be a bizarre self centered vampire like Lee Gun in “Fated to Love You”. That would be a change from the typical moody cold vampire style. Or a more easy going plot from the bad vs good vampires, that would focus on supernatural and human beings differences. About Yoo Ri Ta’s character I don’t have any suggestions but yeah, for now her character reminds me of Krystal’s in “The Heirs” and that’s not a good thing, even her acting reminds me of Krystal’s : P

Aside from all that, I want to give “Blood” time. It didn’t start in the best way but I want to see where it’s going.

Till then I’m gonna be loving Ji Chang Wook on “Healer”

I thought the first episode was really bad. If I didn’t already commit to watching the first two episodes, I would have quit. Too much back story and horrible fight sequences really turned me off. The second episode was a lot better and flowed at a better pace too.

Ri Ta is annoying, but I think she’s meant to come off as super spoiled, socially awkward, know it all who isn’t as great as she thinks she is. I know many people have bashed her acting choices for this character, but I think it’s fine so far.

I’m not sure if I’m going to continue watching this, but I’m glad that I watched the second episode as it changed my feelings towards this drama.

I agree with you , the second episode was a lot different than the first one. But I see how we needed the first one to understand some things of our main lead’s story. If I were you , I would watch ep 3 and 4 😛 I personally will give it a chance.

I admit the first episode is a bit Twilightish but it still has the kdrama spirit 😛 The second episode gets better that’s why I want to see where this drama is going. It is not as scary as it sounds 😛
